On 14 September 2017, Saja was home alone when she saw Israeli policemen surrounding her house. They told residents that their building will be demolished above their heads if they do not leave in two weeks.
“My name is Saja and I am a 20 year old housewife. My husband and I live in a detached building on the third floor in Kufr Aqab.”
“On 14 September 2017 at about 10:00 a.m. there was a loud knocking on the door. I did not open it because I was home alone and scared.
“I looked out the bedroom window and was horrified to see about 10 Israeli police dressed in military gear.”
“I called my husband and he told me not to open the door for anyone. When he returned home that night he told me the Israelis will demolish our building because it does not have a license.”
“On 14 October 2017, my husband went to the court in Jerusalem to submit a complaint, but it was refused and the hearing for the demolition order has been delayed until 28 February 2018.”
“On 21 October 2017, the police returned and threatened that they will demolish the house above our heads if we do not leave within two weeks. They remained outside our building for two hours before leaving again.”
